Earlier this month we participated in the Texas Dental Association Convention in San Antonio. The weather was spectacular and it was a nice change of pace to get out of the office. We each took some special classes to continue our education and help us improve on what we do everyday. Dr Booth took a class to learn about the newest techniques in bone grafting associated with implant surgery. Chris and Martin took classes that focused on dental assisting and got to do some hands on exercises. Nora took a class on the management of periodontal disease and oral cancer lesions. Dana and Diann took classes to enhance our ability to actively listen to and to build personal relationships with our patients. We are always striving to improve our customer service, both in the chair and in the front office. We also got to relax a little and have some fun while enjoying a nice dinner together.
You may have noticed a new face around the office…
She is Dana Lanier, our new Hygiene  Coordinator. She is originally from a little town in East Texas (you may occasionally hear the accent), but she has called Austin home for many years now. She says that working at Silver Screen Dental is a breath of fresh air, and loves the opportunity to work with people. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her Italian Greyhounds, cooking for friends and family, sewing and crafting, jewelry-making, listening to music, and going to movies of course!

We Need Your Help!
Join us in collecting items needed for SafePlace and
The Storehouse Food Pantry.
The items that are needed for SafePlace are diapers, Pullups, baby wipes, baby clothing, baby care products, baby bottles, formula and baby food, full-sized unused deodorant, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash, brushes and combs, razors and shaving cream, backpacks, picture books, new shoes, socks and underwear (all sizes), purses and wallets, towels (all sizes), and laundry detergent.
The items that are needed for The Storehouse Food Pantry are healthy non-perishable food items, such as canned vegetables, meats and fruits, applesauce, tuna, soups, canned tomato products, rice, pasta, oatmeal, beans, boxed dinners. Also needed are laundry detergent, bath soap, diapers, paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags.
Monetary donations are always accepted. The donation box is located at the Silver Screen Dental office and the deadline is March 31st, 2011 at 4pm.
Please show your support for these worthy causes and for Silver Screen Dental as we compete in the Amazing Race 2 on April 1st, 2011.
